How Does Acupuncture Work: Mystery or NOT?

How does Acupuncture work? It is not really such a mystery if you use common sense.

I will explain it the way I see it, so it is easy for the lay person to comprehend how it works. This is not quoted from a book, it is what I put together for my patients and makes perfect sense. I believe at some point acupuncture will consider my view and eventually prove my explanation ;)

Imagine a pool of ocean water (that is rich in mineral nutrients).
If you placed a metal rod at one end of the pool and another metal rod at the other end of the pool. You attached an electrical current to the first rod.
You could imagine that the electrical current would travel down the rod, into the water and the mineral rich water would conduct like the electrolyte fluid in your body to reach the other rod (minerals are like magnets with positive and negative charges, and placed next to each other conduct or propel the current by flipping the next mineral over and the next creating movement)

Your body is made up of water plus minerals equals electrolytes…electrolytes conduct. Acupuncture needles are made of metal. Metal attracts and moves electrolytes.

Blockages (excess) or deficiencies in the pathways between the needles would create dis-ease or eventually dysfunction. The electrolyte activity between the 2 needles essentially is used to push through the blockage, moving valuable mineral nutrients to the blocked or deficient area to repair or clear the area.

Acupuncture is misunderstood: Why does it work like a miracle for some people and does not seem to do anything for other people? Could it be minerals?

Acupuncture needs electrolyte support for movement…

The Empty Pool
Now imagine the same pool of water without any electrolytes / deficient in minerals (essentially purified or empty water). The electrical current would travel down the rod to the top of the water and then scatter out over the top of the water, radically looking for something to ground…eventually finding the other rod but the fluid would not be conducting the current and it would not ground. I used this explanation to illustrate what happens with issues like ADD or ADHD. Without enough mineral support or activity, a person will feel scattered and ungrounded, jumping from one thought to another without focus…restless, not able to sleep, concentrate, cramping, twitching, shaking, nervous.

Dis-ease can come about through deficiencies or blockages (excess)

Blockages (excess) are more understandable…an accident, a bump, a fall, compression etc. create most physical blockages like inflammation. Blockages can also come about from deficiencies however.

Deficiencies are generally lack of internal support or nourishment. If this lack of support goes on for long enough, the structure will corrode or collapse, creating a type of deficient blockage.
